Malteser International, Order of Malta Worldwide Relief, aspires to a world where all individuals — particularly those in need and those who are displaced — live a life of health and dignity. Malteser International works as an international humanitarian aid organization of the Catholic Order of Malta. Malteser International provides aid to people in need in over 140 projects in 35 countries, regardless of religion, political persuasion, origin, or gender.

"We are grateful to the White Cross Ball of New York City, which has provided us with critical funds to help continue our work. In Ukraine, we continue to provide psychosocial support, strengthen aid programs for patients with war injuries, and help communities with shelter, housing, and preparation for the cold winter months. Following the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria, we are providing urgent care, all without electricity in complete darkness and in extremely cold weather.”

Ellen Powers, Development Manager, Malteser International

Malteser International’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of suffering and displaced people around the world. It provides emergency and disaster relief in the immediate aftermath of acute disasters and works towards the rehabilitation and reconstruction of afflicted communities. Malteser International works on the frontlines to provide immediate and long-term relief to those who need it most.

The relief organization deploys experts in crisis situations, conflict-ridden areas, and natural disasters and epidemics around the world. Malteser International intervenes to provide medical and mental health support, clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), food, protection, and shelter where possible.

Globally, Malteser International is united by the goal of standing alongside the displaced, and people in need: Together, we’re working to build a life of health and dignity.
